What if I can’t afford your rate? Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you cannot afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me. If I’m unable to offer you a sliding-scale spot, I’d be happy to offer referrals to trusted clinicians in the area.
Can I use out-of-network benefits?
In some cases, you may be eligible to use out-of-network insurance benefits. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at the time of appointment. If appropriate, I will provide a super bill each month that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
How much will I pay for therapy using out-of-network benefits?
You can use the out-of-network reimbursement calculator below to get an individualized estimate of what your costs will be using your out-of-network benefits!
If you have out-of-network benefits, they typically will reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session.
If appropriate, I will provide you with monthly invoices called a “super bill” that will include all of the necessary information for your claims to be processed.
Can you work with clients anywhere in the country?
Yes and No (sorry to be confusing here). Therapists can only provide services in the states they are licensed. I can provide therapy in the states of Colorado and Florida. However, I am able to provide coaching services in any state or country.
What if I’m not sure we’re a good fit?
Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 15-minute intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:
I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy
I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist
You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover
We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.
How is this modern hybrid counseling and coaching approach different than a traditional coaching approach?
I have been a therapist for 20+ years. In this time I have found using an integrative approach works. Although I do love using coaching strategies, I feel integrating psychology-based theory helps us get to the root of the issue faster for lasting results.
So we’re a good fit. What next?
If we both decide we're a good fit after our intro call, we'll schedule our first therapy appointment. I'll send you a couple of quick forms to complete before our first session. I'll also send you a link for our video calls that you can use every week.
What is the best treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety can vary but I believe in using a holistic mind-body approach is best. Check out this page for more information on the approaches I use.
What are the psychology-based models you use?
The following models are tried and true. They are evidence-based, which means they are proven to work. Some of these theoretical orientations will include acceptance commitment therapy, positive psychology, sleep therapy, solution-focused therapy, behavioral activation, dialectical behavioral and cognitive behavioral therapy. In addition health psychology, mindfulness-based stress reduction, the mind-body connection, and holistic psychotherapy will be utilized.
Do I have time for this?
I understand you are busy. But when you are feeling stressed out, and overwhelmed you are not being as productive as you could be. Oftentimes, we can’t get out of our own way and end up being less productive. So, if you traded out feeling stressed and overwhelmed for balanced and well, you would be more productive. Learning these skills will create time and put meaning back into a more productive busy.
Am I ready to do the work?
Yes, you are. If you were not, you would not be on this page looking at this content and exploring this opportunity. There are times in our lives when we need to prioritize our needs and dig in. In this way, we can be our best version of ourselves. When we prioritize ourselves, we also do a better job with our other life roles: as mothers, friends and working professionals. This is your time to take care of you!
What is different about the Balanced + Well Coaching Program?
This program was designed to help you make productive change. It is based on theory, life experience and working with hundreds of clients over the last 20+ years. It gives you the tools needed to make lasting change.
I’m not sure if I want coaching or counseling - how do I choose?
Both counseling and coaching will help with goal setting and achieving more balance and well-being. If you're uncertain about how to proceed, just ask me and we can determine together what program makes the most sense for your individual goals and needs.
